When you connect an Xbox Wireless Controller to your Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 PC with a micro-USB cable, Windows will automatically download and install the drivers for the controller. If Windows is not set to automatically download device software, you can check for updates through Device Manager. Jan 18, 2015 I recently bought the Afterglow ax.1 xbox 360 controller to use on my PC but when I plug it in it won't download the drivers. I've seen support questions about this but my case seems a little different. This is what my 'Microsoft common controller for Windows Class' driver looks like. Provide the Machine details which usb.
Ok, so after reading this post I was a little unhappy as I have one of these controllers and I have Windows 8.1.
However, low and behold I managed to get it working. Here's what I did.
I downloaded the XBox 360 driver pack for Windows 7 (Yes, I am quite aware I have Windows 8.1) : www.microsoft.com/.../xbox-360-controller-for-windows
I installed the driver pack and connected the controller. Device manager advised that there was NO driver for the After Glow Controller. Trying to go through the Manual Driver update is fruitless and just hangs device manager.
Here's what I did next.
Leaving the controller connected to the USB port, I rebooted the machine. As the machine booted up, the driver was installed and all was good. If you go to Devices and Printers, the controller shows up as an AfterGlow Gamepad for XBox 360. To test, I removed the controller and re inserted it, still good. I unplugged the controller and shut the machine down. Started it back up and logged in, then plugged the controller in, and it's still working.

Hope this helps.
Driver Usb Windows 7
My PS3 afterglow controller has always worked great but recently the USB drive just stopped connecting. Now whenever I plug in the USB to my system it just continuously blinks. My USB ports are working fine because I can still charge other controllers and the actual USB to the controller connects perfectly fine to my PC just not my PS3. So I have no clue what the issue is and I don't quite want to get a new controller yet because it seems like this one still works, it just isn't connecting to my PS3 right now. It'll be great if someone could answer this
Afterglow Xbox Controller Driver Usb 3 Wont Connect Pc
Is this a good question?
